At Portland State University, the SweetLab develops and implements connected "Internet of Things" sensor technologies. These sensors are designed to improve the collection of data in global health programs, which leads to improved operational decision making. Use cases include: cook stoves, water pumps, household water filters, sanitation systems, and pedestrian footbridges. The SweetLab has projects in 15 countries, with USAID, UK DFID, the National Science Foundation, Catholic Relief Services, Mercy Corps, Living Water International, IRC, CARE, and others.
